June...a very busy month

Firstly apologies for not getting to write on the blog sooner. With training and playing for both Wigan and England there isn't much time left in the day. But i am really going to try hard and at least write a few lines a month and add some pictures.

Last month i celebrated my 21st birthday with family and friends in Chorley, I'm not one for big parties although i do get stick for it at times and I'm told to enjoy myself, after the initial shock of the surprise organised by my mum i got into it and really enjoyed the night.

Me, my sister and my Dad
Recently had the opportunity to do a photo shoot with Ruaux photography of Bolton. If you get chance to visit their studio its well worth it. Really enjoyed my first photo shoot. I was nervous to start with but Margaret and Dave Ruaux really helped me to relax and in the end i really got into it.

Recently i have been put on Nigel Round's book's, Nigel runs Nigel Round Entertainments and Management Agency. I have been given some great opportunities through Nigel, the most recent is a slot on The Super League Show showing the viewers what i do in my spare time off the pitch other than Training.

That's me with a big camera lol

Well that's all for now, thank's for taking the time to visit and i will update you on events as soon as possible

All the best, Josh

Owl’s About That Then

JOSH CHARNLEY has given his Wigan team-mates a real hoot — by having an OWL tattooed on to his right arm.

Feathers flew at the Warriors when winger Charnley turned up with a new piece of body art.
There, on his right forearm is the bird perching on a branch.
Charnley, 20, said: "I've wanted one for ages so I thought while I've got a bit of time off I'd get it.
"I'm going to get my full arm done, so it will blend in eventually. But I got some stick off the lads when I came in with it — there's a lot of pictures gone on Twitter of them all drawing owls on their arms."
Charnley's tattoo obsession does not come cheep. His full left-arm design cost £2,000 and took 50 hours.
His other arm will cost a similar sum AND he wants his chest and back done.
When that is complete he would have spent about £8,000. Charnley admitted: "It's cost me a fair bit and I've had my ribs done, which cost me around £300. It will be a mortgage by the time it is finished."
While Charnley is rapidly becoming a work of art, on the field he hopes to create a few more masterpieces after a fine 2011.
Wigan crashed to a home defeat by Huddersfield in last weekend's opener but he believes coach Shaun Wane will turn things round at home to Leeds tonight.
Charnley said: "Shaun's a hard taskmaster. He comes down on you if you make a mistake — you don't make it again if he's on your case."

School Visit

Josh dropped in on a team building event at Parklands High School Chorley, run by Adventure 21 ltd and helped the students with some of the tasks.

Josh keeping a close eye on the students!
Having been involved in team building with Wigan Warriors, Josh was able to explain the importance of the tasks and helped in motivating the young people throughout the sessions.

After the event some of the schools Warriors supporters had the chance to have their photos taken with young Master Charnley. The school reported back to us on what a great surprise it was to have had a local sportsman visit them and what a difference it had made to the young people attending.

Josh Charnley starts a blog to tell everyone whats going on

Josh Charnley's Official Blog

To all those who are wondering, this first bit is written by Dave Firth from www.adventure21.co.uk . I've known Josh for some years now firstly through his mum and dad and then later on as mates and training together at Pasquill's gym in Chorley. I've seen him grow from an enthusiastic young lad to a fun loving professionalism rugby league player. Don't get me wrong, i understand very little about the game, (my lads have just started playing so they are showing me the ropes) but what i do understand is that Josh Charnley's determination and love for the game could provide this country with one of the best young sportsman we have seen for some time.

The Aim of this blog is to keep Josh's family, friends and followers in touch with what he's up to, training programs, challenges, personal goals and public appearances to name but a few.

Josh hopes you enjoy following his progress and that you find the information in his blog  of interest. Please feel free to ask questions and add constructive comments.
