Owl’s About That Then

JOSH CHARNLEY has given his Wigan team-mates a real hoot — by having an OWL tattooed on to his right arm.

Feathers flew at the Warriors when winger Charnley turned up with a new piece of body art.
There, on his right forearm is the bird perching on a branch.
Charnley, 20, said: "I've wanted one for ages so I thought while I've got a bit of time off I'd get it.
"I'm going to get my full arm done, so it will blend in eventually. But I got some stick off the lads when I came in with it — there's a lot of pictures gone on Twitter of them all drawing owls on their arms."
Charnley's tattoo obsession does not come cheep. His full left-arm design cost £2,000 and took 50 hours.
His other arm will cost a similar sum AND he wants his chest and back done.
When that is complete he would have spent about £8,000. Charnley admitted: "It's cost me a fair bit and I've had my ribs done, which cost me around £300. It will be a mortgage by the time it is finished."
While Charnley is rapidly becoming a work of art, on the field he hopes to create a few more masterpieces after a fine 2011.
Wigan crashed to a home defeat by Huddersfield in last weekend's opener but he believes coach Shaun Wane will turn things round at home to Leeds tonight.
Charnley said: "Shaun's a hard taskmaster. He comes down on you if you make a mistake — you don't make it again if he's on your case."
